Associate – Urban Planning
Richard is an urban planner with a varied career spanning 17 years’ experience in the public and private sectors who brings a dynamic approach to any planning project. His career has included senior level positions both in Australia and the United Kingdom and his knowledge base spans all aspects of strategic and statutory planning, allowing ‘conceptual thinking’ to achieve logical and pragmatic planning outcomes.
Throughout his career, Richard has gained extensive experience in dealing with a variety of urban, heritage and environmental issues, including planning and policy development as part structure plan, development plan, master plan and planning policy-focused projects both within Australia and internationally.
Richard’s experience also extends to large scale multi-storey residential proposals and mixed use, retail, commercial, industrial, and educational schemes in both metropolitan areas and sensitive rural/urban fringe locations. He also appears at VCAT and Planning Panels in an advocacy capacity, demonstrating his sound understanding of the Victorian planning system and its legislative framework.
