Victorian Architecture Awards 2017 Commendation

2017 Victorian Architecture Award Winners

July 4, 2017

Congratulations to all the winners celebrated at the 2017 Victorian Architecture Awards.

We were especially pleased to see the Six Degrees Architects design for STREAT receive a commendation for Commercial Architecture, as we had the pleasure of providing urban planning services for the creation of STREAT’s new head quarters in Collingwood. This formerly neglected historic mansion was the ideal vessel to house this amazing social enterprise, focused on at risk youth in our city.  Restored to its former glory, it is now a vibrant community hub incorporating offices, commercial kitchens, training rooms and a flexible retail space. You can read about this project, and view more photos here.

Fifty-eight awards and commendations were presented across 16 categories from a pool of 223 entries.

“The value of good architecture is about creating places for people.” Said Vanessa Bird, Victorian chapter president of the Australian Institute of Architects. At Hansen, we believe in and strive to create places of enduring value and it was wonderful to see so many architects that we have either worked in the past or are currently collaborating with, recognised in the winners list.

Projects that received an architecture award or named award will be considered for the National Architecture Awards, to be announced in Canberra in November.
