Hansen to develop Osborne Precinct masterplan in Geelong
Hansen Partnership has won the tender to develop a benchmark strategic renewal masterplan for Osborne Precinct in the north of Geelong.
With Geelong benefiting from considerable private and government investment over the past decade, the Osborne Precinct is ideally placed for renewal given its proximity to the Pivot City Innovation District, the Port of Geelong and the Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas which represent some of the largest urban growth projects in regional Victoria.
The aim of Hansen’s masterplan will be to firmly establish the reputation and presence of the Osborne Precinct within the psyche of this emerging Northern Geelong community as a premier destination for work and play.
As part of this project, Hansen Partnership will be investigating opportunities for complementary uses for the heritage listed Osborne House, as well as access and movement around the precinct including improved pedestrian amenity, support for ongoing employment opportunities, environmentally responsive public realm improvements enhancing the sense of place and maintaining Osborne Park as a centre for recreation as well as protecting residential amenity along Swinburne Street.
This exciting people-oriented place making opportunity will see Hansen working as the lead consultant in partnership with Noagroup and OurSay for community and stakeholder engagement with Martyn Group providing integrated transport planning advice.
